Frontier Collegiate Institute is proud to announce that they are one of the 60 locations in Canada to be selected to host ‘The Power of Ideas’ tour as part of Innovation 150 a nationwide celebration of Canada's innovative future, present and past. Science festivals, presentations, travelling exhibitions, a Maker Mobile, and contests will engage communities across the country in 2017 in celebration of Canada’s 150 birthday.
The tour is a joint initiative by Perimeter Institute and Actua and will include three important elements to promote science and innovation.
The Exhibition will be presented by the Perimeter Institute in the Frontier Collegiate Institute (FCI) gym, where up to 75 students at a time can be introduced to the great thinkers of physics and the work that is helping us understand the natural world. The 30-40 minute walk through will spark students curiosity, promote creativity, encourage critical thinking, and celebrate collaboration.
The Power of Idea Talks presented by Perimeter Institute will be held in the library @ Frontier Collegiate. It explores innovation in all its forms, from technical to social progress. A total of 30 students can attend the talks for a 45 minute period of time.
